Steve has sleep apnea and there are times when I need something to sleep better. I can’t use sleep aids other than melatonin and even that on some days won’t help. I need something to drown out the noise in our room. The problem is you can’t really use headphones when sleeping until now. I had seen SleepPhones on Facebook and was excited when SleepPhones sent me a pair of their SleepPhones wireless to test out. As per usual while they were provided to me for review, all opinions are my own. So I started a journey to sleep better with Sleepphones.
So what are SleepPhones Wireless:
SleepPhones® Wireless are traditional headphones made bed-friendly and cord-free! Unplug and unwind with our ultra-slim, patented soft and comfortable “headphones in a headband” that make listening to audio in bed a dream. Surround yourself in an ultimate sound experience – without disturbing, or being disturbed by, the person next to you. This model utilizes Bluetooth® technology to wirelessly connect with compatible devices so you never have to worry about getting tangled up in cords. SleepPhones® were designed by a family doctor and provide wearable comfort that’s literally music to your ears. Ideal for sleep, travel, yoga and leisure time.
The SleepPhones wireless comes in two different fabrics, a “SheepCloud” fabric and a breeze fabric. I received the SheepCloud in quiet lavender. It feels close to a fleece but it is no where as near warm. The breeze fabric is breathable and more lightweight.
So how do the SleepPhones work? In the box you’ll find your headband and a charging cord. Within the headband are two speakers that are moveable within the band. It makes it great for an easy fit. There is also the bluetooth module.
The bluetooth module is slim and somewhat flexible. It is really not bulky which is great when in use. It charges via a USB cord. The middle buttons you see are track buttons and the stop/on/off button.
Pairing to my phone was super simple. Just press the stop button until the unit turns on and then pair like any other product to your phone or iPod.
As you can see the SleepPhones fit great on the head. I’ve been using them for a few weeks and more than once I’ve not only calmed down and relaxed enough to be ready for sleep but I’ve also fallen asleep while listening. I flip between audible and a sleep app that I have. SleepPhones also has free MP3s that you can download in order to help you sleep better with SleepPhones.
