Two years ago, we moved Charlie to the basement. He really had outgrown the room he was in upstairs. He also needed more space and personal space being a teen. Now he is responsible for his own room and bathroom! His old bedroom had become the kids play room for about a year. Then I realized that I could move all of my crafting supplies into the room and have a door to keep the cats out. We did just that. We moved the kids stuff down to the office and made it into a game room. Charlie’s old bedroom got painted and became my fiber room. I absolutely loved it excepted I needed some items more for me. I was excited to learn about the Crayola Signature series and decided to do some redecorating with Crayola Signature series. Crayola sent me a selection of the Signature Series to help me redecorate. All opinions are my own.
Redecorating with Crayola Signature Series: Choosing Designs
There are multiple components to the Signature Series. The first one I looked at was the DIY Gallery Designer. This is a complete starter set. It comes with a few of the Signature Pearlescent Cream Sticks and Signature Pearlescent Paint Markers as well as papers of differing weights an types. The best part is that it also comes with some directions for making origami and layout ideas for your walls.
Redecorating with Crayola Signature Series: Creating Origami
Part of the Crayola DIY Gallery Designer product is a selection of origami papers and there are directions for two origami projects. I will tell you that I have tried to do origami several times and I’m just no good at following written instructions for it. The triangles that were included though are beautiful. I found a great video on making a similar triangle and followed it step by step!
I did it! A triangle! The Crayola DIY Gallery Designer set also includes directions to make a flower.
Redecorating with Crayola Signature Series: Plain Jane Clock Makeover
I knew that each item I made would be going in to my fiber room and wanted designs that would match that room and would exhibit my love of knitting and spinning but also be signs of what is important in my life. I sat down with some of the papers from the DIY Gallery Designer set, the Signature Pearlescent Paint Markers and Signature Pearlescent Cream Sticks to design.
The first thing I wanted to do was take my plain Jane clock and make it more readable and decorative. I used the Signature Pearlescent Paint Markers to change it up.
The one thing I want to add is a ball of yarn to the clock. I wasn’t sure if I would have enough space and well I’m not the best at drawing. I’m making a stencil using my Silhouette machine to make the ball of yarn and will color it with the Signature Pearlescent Markers. I alternated colors at the hour marks on the clock so that it was easy to read.
Redecorating with Crayola Signature Series: Creative Wall Designs
For my own designs, I wanted a piece that had two of my favorite Knitting quotes and I wanted a few pieces that had some of my favorite song lyrics to help me through those moments when I’m down.
Its a little hard to see the beauty of this piece. The paper is a sparkly black and the Signature Pearlescent Paint Markers in blue and purple are a beautiful shade to add my knitting quotes to the wall.
I have promised Steve that I would never learn to weave. Its just another hobby that I don’t have the time for but I do love the way weavings look on the wall. I decided I would use the Signature Pearlescent creme sticks to make an almost woven background. I love how easy these are to use. They clean up easily and changing the pressure gives you a different look on the paper.
I used several different sizes of paper to create. This one is smaller but I can’t wait to make the frame for it. I used the Signature Pearlescent Paint Markers to make the background and then used the Signature Iridescent color changer to add another favorite quote for me.
