Stokke was talking with my good friend Shawn Ann and had asked her about her involvement with the Susan G. Komen 3-day for the cure last year. Shawn Ann recently had a baby boy and Stokke asked her to review one of their Xplory strollers. She was nice enough to pass on my name as another blogger that had worked with Energizer last year and Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. Stokke has made their Xplory in a limited edition pink color way and they wanted to get the word out to those that pink is closest too. Nope its not the mothers of daughters its the families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Stokke graciously sent one of the limited edition Pink Xplory strollers for us to use while walking the Maryland Race for the Cure this past weekend. We got up very early in the morning and loaded up into the car. Once to the Hunt Valley location the kids were ready to go. They had heard of the “pink ribbon” walk for the past 2 years and this year they were going to participate as well. It was fun to watch their eyes as we saw the Pink Survivor parade. I had to explain to them what these women were and how special it was for them to be there. Then we got to walk around race village and talk to participants about why they were there and of course we got stopped over and over again by the questions about our stroller. I saw many strollers that morning but ours was the only pink one I knew about!
Getting warmed up:
Then it was time to walk. I was curious how we would do with the Stokke Xplory and the 2000+ walkers and making sure that Charlie didn’t get lost in the crowd. But the Stokke Xplory was a great fit. I was able to adjust the handle all the way up so we were more compact and Charlie could still help me push. Rachael never said a peep as she was nice in snug inside her little cocoon provided by her knit blanket that not only comes with the Stokke Xplory but also attaches to the stroller so it doesn’t get lost.

I have to say we’ve had more than our fair share of strollers. I’m always looking for one that fits our needs better. I only wish I had found the Stokke Xplory at the beginning of our children’s lives. The stroller seat can be flipped so the child can face you or face out. The push handle is adjustable so it fits any parent/child pushing the stroller. Out on the town and don’t want to put your child in the nasty highchair that has food from the 80s on it? The Stokke Xplory seat is easily adjustable to table height so your child can eat in the comfort of their own seat.
The Stokke Xplory came in a few pieces but was easily put together. We had all the parts out and installed within 10 minutes. The only fussy part of the stroller is the closing aspect of the wheels. After a few shots at closing I have it down like a pro. The other big plus for me was that the Stokke Xplory was able to handle where ever we took it. The streets of Hunt Valley with hills and valleys for the Maryland Race for the Cure or the rugged terrain of the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
