I have wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show for years now. A few years ago my mom and I were invited to see the show in Orlando while we were there for a conference. The one night we had open was the start of the dark week for the show. You see with so many different performers each show takes some time off to rest, practice and refine stunts. I was so disappointed. Last December we were going to see the show at National Harbor. I wound up with pneumonia and it snowed. Needless to say my dreams of going were dashed yet again. When the Cirque team reached out to let me know about Luzia being at the Lerner Center in Tysons I was so excited. Finally nothing was going to stop me from being there. We received 4 free tickets to a show in exchange for writing our review. So what was my first thought? Luzia by Cirque du Soleil is perfect for Mother’s Day. No really it is the perfect gift. Tickets start at just $38.50. There are also a ton of promo codes that can coincide with tickets so you can get the best price. There are family packs available as well as Mother’s Day discounts!
Why do I think you should see Luzia by Cirque du Soleil for Mother’s Day?
There is a beautiful story line here. It is a wonderful love story that is told through characters, stunts and music. The show is approximately 2 hours of action sure to thrill the entire family. There are trapeze artists, a strong man, and acrobatics that astound. The colors are stunning and you are truly transported to the beauty of Mexico.
When you walk towards the arena you can automatically see that you will be surrounded by bright colors. You walk into the first part of the tent. This area has the requisite merchandise and concession sales. I loved that there were multiple different vendors throughout. It made it easy for looking. The prices were more than reasonable as well.
Then you head in to find your seats. There is honestly not a bad seat in the house. The stage rotates so that at all times you will be able to see some of the action going on.
I think the final photo was by far my favorite act. It was so stunning to see these 4 women doing what they obviously love to do. It was so graceful and visually stunning. Then the water starts to fall. It is so beautiful.
Luzia by Cirque du Soleil plays at the Lerner Center in Tysons Corner from now until May 31st.
