A few months ago we realized that the kids are just too big for their loft beds. They’ve gotten so tall that they’re hitting their heads on the ceilings when they get in and out of the beds. We had found a great deal on a twin bed for Charlie and moved him to the basement over the summer. Rachael however was a little harder to deal with. When Steve’s mom moved from her little home to an assisted living facility she gave Rachael her full size bed. I found a used frame and headboard. The headboard was a beautiful wicker from Ikea. Rachael’s room is a great petal pink and she didn’t want to change the color. My mom made her a beautiful quilt that was perfect. It has sprinkles of pink and green. So to tie the green into the pink walls we used a flocked spray paint on the headboard to change the wicker from a natural color to a spring green. Things were coming together.
Then the bad news came from Rachael. She hated her mattress. It was too squishy and uncomfortable. It made it hard to fall asleep at night. Here we thought we were helping her grow up and instead she was feeling worse than we started. Enter Nectar Sleep. Steve and I had been looking at different mattresses and mattress companies for awhile. The big thing was trying to decide which was the best way to go. Obviously with this being a full size bed and Rachael being only 9 we wanted a mattress that was going to last until she moved out of the house. I loved the idea of the memory foam mattresses for her. It would be something that would support her as she grew.
Normally I take lots of photos but I really wanted you to see how the Nectar Sleep mattress is. How easy it is to move around, how it is to open it, how it is packaged, how it inflates, our first impressions and Rachael’s impressions after using it. So the only real photo I took was of the mattress fully inflated.
Now Rachael received the full size Nectar Sleep mattress. This comes with two pillows and she loves them almost as much as she loves the mattress itself! Nectar Sleep even comes with free shipping and returns with a 365 night risk free time period. I think this is perfect. I know we tried one of the other mattress companies ourselves that had a 60 day time frame and that just isn’t enough time to really know if a mattress is going to work well for you. Especially if the mattress wasn’t set up properly or you have medical conditions such as back problems or pregnancy.
Set up was actually easier than any other mattress I’ve seen. I moved the full size mattress by myself, off the porch, up the stairs, out of the two bags, onto the frame and it was ready. Simply use the provided tool to open the bag and watch as your mattress unrolls and starts to inflate. Remove the plastic and enjoy.
