Being on the East Coast means finding places to go that are fun and interesting but I love finding somewhere that isn’t too far, doesn’t cost a ton and above all the whole family can enjoy. We did just that when we headed to King of Prussia a couple of weeks ago. King of Prussia is home to one of the biggest malls on the East Coast and that is enough for me. But the kids and Steve wanted to have fun too so we checked out a few other places.
Our first stop was to check in to the Double Tree by Wyndham. Honestly this was not the best experience. We had some issues with checking in and our room had some broken things but the hotel did fix them.
Our next step was to try something fun and different for the evening. We headed to Arnold’s Family Fun Center. Now this was a place that all the family could enjoy. First we headed to the Bistro and Bar to meet with Lauren from Arnold’s and John from the Valley Forge Tourism Board. We got to hear all about some of the fantastic things in the Valley Forge area, attractions to see and even some history.
We were able to grab a quick bite. Due to scheduling we weren’t able to make the tour and that was disappointing. What tour? The American Treasure Tour! This tour is an indoor tour takes you through a collection of Americana. The two major exhibits are mechanical music and classic preserved automobiles. The music area includes band organs, music boxes and calliopes. You do need to call and schedule your tour. And bigger groups can take advantage of a train ride through the collection and a seated presentation in the music area. Again we weren’t able to experience the tour because our meal was a little late to us. But it was a delicious meal:
The next thing was some fun. We got a great band so that we could ride all the rides and off we went:
As I was posting updates a friend that lives in Pennsylvania texted me. Their family goes to Arnold’s all the time!
