While our girls may dream of being the next Disney Princess, Disney is helping them to remember to dream big with the Dream Big Princess program. I love that the last few princesses that Disney has come out with have been multicultural and have followed their own dreams. Disney recently collaborated with 19 female photographers from around the world to capture powerful images showcasing real-world women and girls inspired by the Princesses. And for every photo posted on social media with “#DreamBigPrincess,” or like of such a post, Disney will donate $1 to the UN Girl Up Foundation, up to $1 million.
These images spotlight positive real world stories in a visual way to encourage kids to reach for their goals.
I think this photo is the one that hits home the most for me. This is a Paralympic champion in Japan.
Do you encourage your princess to dream big? Does she follow through on it? While being a princess is a pretty big dream in its on right, Rae dreams of being a baker. It may not be a hard dream to achieve for most people but considering she’s allergic to gluten that takes things up to a whole new level. I’m hoping by the time she’s ready to go to bakery school, there will be an option for her as a Celiac patient. Who knows may be she’ll fight through her allergy to finish school and will open the first Celiac friendly pastry school? Wouldn’t that be an amazing dream to reach for!
