I fell hard for Guardians of the Galaxy. I’m sure it’s because it started because it was my first Disney press trip. But now I’ve fallen just as hard for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Disney sent me an advanced copy of the Blu-Ray to work with you. All opinions are my own. We decided to have a viewing party and grabbed some popcorn. Because of Charlie’s new braces we had to grab the hulless popcorn which you just can’t do much with. But one of his favorite snacks are treats of some sort or another. Usually he grabs rice crispies but this time we wanted something different. We made some delicious Galaxy Treats for our Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 viewing party! They were so much fun to make and the kids got involved too.
After cutting our snacks we sat down to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. I have to say it was another great movie. I loved that they brought even more music from my youth into the movie. While I was born and raised in the late 70’s and 80’s I grew up listening to oldies so I knew most of the songs and lyrics. It kind of drove the kids nuts to be singing along with the music.
What can you learn from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2?
The biggest take away for me was that sometimes there are people in your life that are just too toxic to be there. At that time you have to cut the out and focus on those people whether family or family by friendship that are meant to be there. I love that Peter Quill recognizes this and keeps those that mean so much to him closer to him. I was upset to see a character die in the movie. I loved him in the first movie and adored the meaning he brought to the second even more so was sad to see him go. But it brought the moral of family is more than just blood to the frontline and something that many people need to remember. I have a wonderful family. They have been very supportive throughout all ahem almost 40 years of my life but I also have family by friendship. Those people that have stepped up to be a part of my life and with them my life wouldn’t have the meaning it does. From those that supported us and are still with us after trying to get pregnant and raising our kids (Thanks Deb) to those that we met in high school and are still a part of our lives (Anne I love you!) and those that are helping us as we raise our kids to be the amazing kids they are.
