When you’re faced with going back to school for the kids its easy. They get a list of things they need, you go through and buy them so clothes and send them off on the bus. When you’re the one going back to school it can be hard. I know because I’ve been there. I’m living there. The hardest thing is to start going through the books and learning how to organize yourself better or differently than when you were young. I was able to go through school classes without much trouble and not a whole ton of studying. Now I have to study, take notes and work hard at doing. I found last semester that books are expensive. I bought most of my books used and I needed a way to make my notes stand out over the notes the previous owners had put in the books. Post-Its came in handy to mark things that I needed to know and the sections that were important to me. This year I’m doing the same thing in really going through my books and making my sections stand out. I cleaned my desk, cleaned the office and set up a space that is all mine. Then I started on organizing my books. For each class I have a binder. When the class opens, I will be printing the syllabus and then adding each of the due dates into my online calendar.
Each binder has a pocket with a collection of Post-Its products that I know will be needed and a pen.Inside I have a set of Post-Its Grid Notes, Notes Tabs and page markers. This is my Legal Research, Analysis and Writing binder so it also has arrow flags, notebook tabs and arrow flags set.
Because this is my more advanced class I need the extra help with making notes and keeping ideas straight. Its a great help to get started with a good organization system before the class has even started. I know that Post-Its are usually seen as those sticky yellow sheets of paper that you have all over the office but there is so much more to the brand. The Post-It products that I was provided with all came from the new STUDY line and it contains so many products that would be great for the adult that is going back to school.
The one item that I would recommend above any other is the Notebook Kit:
This kit has two sections of Post-Its and arrow flag markers. The best part is that it has an adhesive backing so it sticks to the notebook. I have mine stuck to the pocket in the front of my notebook. Its not to bulky and fits perfectly in that space. I can quickly grab an arrow flag and mark a page in my text or if I need more space to write a note I can use a Post-It to keep better notes for on the run or even taking tests.
