While I love the fast restaurants that make life easy with kids that don’t want to stop, there are times when you really need to just take a break and sit down. When I think back on our trips to Disney World, I actually cherish those moments because we’ve gotten to take a break, be fed, talked about what our favorite parts were so far and best of all plan out our next few hours. So what are the Can’t Miss Restaurants for Sit Down Meals at Disney world?
Of course you can go to the places that you have to have a reservation for and Be Our Guest is definitely a must but that’s if you can get a reservation. I wanted to bring you a list of places that you can get in to without being up at 1 am to get a seat.
- Hollywood Brown Derby:
This is by far my favorite sit down restaurant. It is a little off the beaten path when walking but it was a much needed break for us. They happily handled our gluten free allergies. The best part for us? The gluten free bread. It was delicious. The waiter brought a ton of it and gladly gave us a little bag to take some back to the hotel with us.
- 50’s Prime Time Cafe:
While reservations are suggested, a quick search the day of may lead you to exactly what you want. Just this morning I put in a request for a table of 4 at 11:30 for today and was able to see spots available at 1150 and 1200. Not bad for day of. The best part of the 50’s Primetime Cafe is the ambiance. Who wouldn’t want to go back to a simpler time? My kids love going here for lunch because they can talk about different eras and what the differences are in the times. You can also get a fantastic milkshake!
- The Boathouse:
Enjoy the view is all I can say. You can rest assured that they have your back when it comes to allergies. I was able to see some things that would automatically be safe but after talking with the staff I was put at ease that I had more options than I originally thought. As with every restaurant we have tried at Disney, they take allergies very seriously and are able to make modifications to most dishes to help us. The fish tacos are amazing! The only bad part is the tortillas get soggy quickly. This didn’t bother me much as I don’t particularly like soft corn tortillas.
- Coral Reef Restaurant:
This is a must for us every time. Again its a restaurant that’s off the regular path and I would suggest making a reservation in the morning. But its fabulous to just take a few minutes to sit and watch the fish in all of the amazing tanks around the room. The food is divine and offers something for everyone. I love that there are options for the kids that include fish! My kids (Even with their allergy) eat more sophisticated meals than most kids their ages. They happen to love fish and having a grilled fish option is perfect for them. For the dessert lover, save room for the Chocolate Wave. Its delicious and so is the raspberry gelato that is served with it.
- Yak & Yeti:
Yak & Yeti will take you on a walk through different lands as it is in Epcot. It is a perfect way to explore. The best part is they have some amazing options for gluten free. Their lettuce cups are to die for. They also have some great fish options including salmon and the chef’s fish of the day. They also have some great options for dessert which is a must for the kids. They need that sugar to keep going.
The best part of this list of Can’t Miss Restaurants For Sit Down Meals At Disney World is that most of them don’t need reservations or you can easily get same day reservations just hours before going. I was able to schedule for Coral Reef, Brown Derby and 50’s Primetime Cafe all for lunch time (1130-1230) at 10 am!
