Walgreens and Express Script couldn’t come to an agreement during their recent contract negotiations and you may be stuck wondering what went wrong and what you can do now. Walgreens tried hard to get Express Scripts to renew their contract even offering to hold rates flat but Express Script said no. This has left thousands of Americans including some of our Military at a loss. Only certain plans within Express Scripts has been effected and it would be best to contact your local pharmacist to see if that includes you.
If it does Walgreens has started the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club to help you out. The cost has been reduced to $10 a year, a family membership covers everyone in your immediate family, including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets. Individuals may join for $5. Join and receive discount prices on your prescriptions. The Walgreens Prescription Savings Club also offers savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications, discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies and best of all bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and photofinishing services. Making Walgreens a one stop shop.
Many employers are working with Express Scripts because their employees are upset that Walgreens is no longer under contract. Check with your employer to see if they are debating this.
And make sure you stay up to date with Walgreens by following Walgreens on Twitter and like Walgreens on Facebook.
