When I was a little girl we had Ice Capades. Okay so I probably just totally told you how old I am! But it was my dream activity. My mom was amazing in making sure we went every time it came to the area. I loved the grace and beauty of those skating on the ice. She also always took us to the circus where my favorite act was always the aerial silks. I loved the grace of them but also the danger aspect that you see when they twist and turn and almost hit the ground. Last night I had a Girls Night Out with Cirque Du Soleil’s Crystal. All at once my two favorites combined together and I fell in love.
For a change I didn’t take the kids with me! I received two tickets to last night’s performance of Cirque Du Soleil’s Crystal. All opinions are my own. The kids were fighting over who would go and who wouldn’t. I wanted to have a date night with Steve but we couldn’t get a sitter so I chose to not take anyone but have a girls night out with one of my best friends. We met up for a quick dinner (thankful that we can eat lettuce again!) and then walked next door to Capital One Arena here in DC.
We had amazing seats but that doesn’t surprise me. When we saw Cirque Du Soleil’s Luzia, I found that there really wasn’t a bad seat in the arena.
As per usual with Cirque shows, there is an intriguing story that draws you in and leaves you on the edge of your seat as you wait to see what will happen next. Crystal does not disappoint in the story line. You need to pay close attention to fully grasp the story here but it is a beautiful one with a fantastic moral.
Crystal starts with some audience interaction. This included a huge snow fight in the middle of Capital One Arena!
Cirque shows are known of course for one thing, beautiful, graceful acts that are eye catching and spell binding. Crystal amazes even more as they do the usual acts on ice/ice skates.
I loved the silks and honestly took two photos during that whole portion because I love the beauty and grace of the act. I love the smooth lines and story that is told in each tiny movement. This one was that of a love story.
There was a little hockey action including a shout out to our favorite team, The Capitals!
But nothing is over until The End.
Cirque Du Soleil’s Crystal is playing at Capital One Arena from now until December 9th. Tickets are still available for this show that is sure to delight and astound you. Grab a few tickets and have a wonderous A Girls Night Out with Cirque Du Soleil’s Crystal.
