Just Beware

Posted by: Holly | Comments (5)

I was sent a little note with some news to beware. Since many of you are still searching and coming here I feel I should pass it on. Violet is reintroducing herself as PeonyBlue at least on Ravelry. So much for disappearing and moving on to better things. Please just be careful that you don’t get sucked in to her new persona. In case anyone thinks this is an old account please note that the join date is May 2010.

We can either stand up and see this as it really is or we can continue to go round and round and not face the fact that we’ve all been taken. Personally I’m standing up. I so would not be surprised if we saw a new podcast soon. Otherwise her fame will just die away and where would that leave the attention seeking, money grubbing woman?

Violet Seriously?

Posted by: Holly | Comments (3)

Lime and Violet call it quits? So supposedly Violet’s getting death threats. I’m not going to say it didn’t happen. I will say I certainly didn’t send them and that there are crazy people out there because I got some too over  the last few months. But instead of saying Poor Me, I fought back. I pinpointed where the person was and if need be I would contact the appropriate authorities. But personally it’s not worth it for me.

I hope all those people that were standing up for Violet a few months ago see that we were right. This has been an ongoing theme in Violet’s life. OH pretty, start something and then let it go with no explanation. I can understand her wanting to close her own boards. Bu there was no reason to delete the LimenViolet board on Ravelry. No that was her way of trying to make this part of her life completely disappear. Unfortunately for her I’m not willing to take down anything I have said. So yeah if you Google her eventually you will find me.  Hopefully the poor suckers that get sucked in next will Google and see what they’re getting into.

Nothing like a big FU from a person that you supported, listened to, gave money and presents to. Even changing threads in the Ravelry form to have discussion titles like “wow, I’m an ass” In closing the boards they also left people hanging that had been participating in a swap. I for one would be more than pissed now that I have no way to contact those involved.

So Violet Seriously? Did you really have to delete everything? Forget the death threats, put on your big girl panties and grow the hell up.

Knitting Goddesses

Posted by: Holly | Comments (0)

knitting I have a question. When you join a yarn club what are your expectations? Do you think your product should come on time and you should receive what you paid for? I am overwhelmed by the response my little posts about the Intention Yarn Clubs has gotten. I’m shocked that we were called horrible drama llamas. Yep that’s me I paid for a product and didn’t receive it. I will also say that I am over the moon excited by the fact that I was able to sell my membership BEFORE the last three shipments. I would have been even more upset when they arrived. The 4th shipment was a spattering of small skeins of yarn so that we might free-form crochet. UM Yeah that would not have been good. The 5th shipment (for a KNITTING/YARN club) was a small bat of fiber to spin and directions to make a drop spindle. Seriously I would have been more than pissed that I had paid for yarn and received unspun fiber. The 6th shipment I understand was relatively good as it was actual yarn although not a color that people wanted to see.

Now in the mean time I have joined two other clubs. The Enchanted Forest and Moonfleet (Both from the Unique Sheep) and I have to say even though there were a few minor issues with the pattern for The Enchanted Forest I am more than satisfied. My shawl is gorgeous not that I have anywhere to wear it at the moment. My new yarn and beads came in for Moonfleet and again I am in love. I decided to make Moonfleet for my boss. She is so understanding and works so wonderfully with her employees that I knew I had to do something special for her when she let us know that she will be getting married later this year. So I sent her over to the Unique Sheep’s site and let her pick a couple colorways that she liked. She challenged me b picking Japonica, The Dark Side. It is a gradience colorway and will definitely be fun to work with. To further challenge myself I added beads. I mean this is something my boss will hopefully be wearing on her honeymoon and what woman doesn’t need a little glitz?

So what are your expectations?

WIP Weekend

Posted by: Holly | Comments (0)

It’s time for another Work In Progress (WIP) Weekend. What have you been working on? I’m still working on the the Lace Rib Raglan by Crissy Gardnier. I haven’t done much on it this weekend just a few rounds of stockinette.

And of course my project that is just daunting and totally involving all my time is The Enchanted Woods Shawl from the Unique Sheep. I am so in love with the pattern I have decided I want to make one as a wedding present for my boss. She’s getting married in November on the beach in Fiji. (Jealous much?) But a nice lightweight lacy shawl would be great in the evenings.

I’m almost finished with Clue 3 but here are the pics from clue 2:

Close up of the upsidown trees. Will be right side up when finished.

The whole thing unstretched.

Lime and Violet Divorce?

Posted by: Holly | Comments (36)

To my daily visitors: Was there something I’m missing on a recent episode? Since all of the knitting club stuff went down I have stopped listening to the Lime and Violet Podcast. But now I’m curious. I have gotten 20 hits in the past 24 hours from google searching for “Lime and Violet Divorce” Did she decide to say she was leaving again?

Has there been another plea for money? Or are people finally just wisening up to this shady ordeal and looking for the truth elsewhere?

WIP Weekend

Posted by: Holly | Comments (2)

As I want to do a little more knitting and blogging regarding knitting I decided to start a new linky. Saturday and Sunday will be Works in Progress Weekend here. Leave a comment with what you’ve been working on. If you blog as well join in and link up!

I’m working on The Enchanted Woods Shawl from the Unique Sheep. It’s been a process thats for sure. I had to learn a new cast on although not entirely new it’s just a variation of a knitted cast on. But due to mistakes and mistakes in counting I had to rip and knit it four times. It’s done now and ready for clue 2. I’m really loving the colors and the yarn. It’s knitted with the Cherry Blossom colorway in Tinsel Toes. So far no splitting and an easy hand.

My second WIP is the Lace Rib Raglan by Crissy Gardnier. Its made using Encore in a sky blue color way. It’s been marinating for awhile as I was tired of stockinette. But back in the groove I go.

The Final Word on Miss Violet

Posted by: Holly | Comments (61)

yarnI have allowed the comments to keep going because I feel that everyone involved should be able to speak without being deleted.

This could have been solved very quickly by talking to us. Some have said we should have done more research before we bought into this yarn club. I sort of agree with you on that. We should have done more research. The problem is that someone as well known in the knitting world you would never think they would run out on you, say you are likened to a drug addict or that we are whiny babies.

I have seen the plurks and comments about starting new projects and good luck to Miss Violet in that. However I would warn any companies thinking of starting a joint project to take a minute and think. Other then a few hits to my site what have I gotten out of writing these posts? Nothing. I did not receive a dime from these posts, I did not get an answer to my questions. I was removed from the message boards BEFORE my membership was sold and I was removed from seeing or being able to respond to any plurks. I’m sure if I had questioned on Ravelry I would have been deleted there as well. So I got nothing out of this other than letting my voice be heard in a space that could not be censored.

I have sold my membership in the yarn club. As promised I did not receive a penny of this money. That was not how this was started. As proof to all of those who have said that I am less than trustworthy I give you some photo proof of the donation. I blocked out the purchasers private information for her protection:

I have found some friends out of this ordeal and I stand beside them as they continue to fight to get answers. I cannot understand how Miss Violet would state that she had no idea that the September packet was not on the site as so many of us asked about it.

I hope that those still in the club and those that have just bought into it actually receive what they are supposed to. I’ll be waiting to hear if you receive a shipment this month. There is supposed to be a shipment before the end of the month which is just 10 days away. Unfortunately I highly doubt it. I have seen the “new shiny” too often now and feel that you’ve probably gone to the side while Miss Violet works on pencils, a different yarn club or something else she’s thought up to side track her from her actual responsibilities.

On a more positive note:

For those looking for something great to watch/listen in on make sure you check out Carin and Round the Twist. Carin (a familiar voice) takes on a videocast about her knitting and spinning. I love to see her projects evolve and her Mother’s Christmas present is just gorgeous. Almost makes me want to knit socks.

I also got some great hints for Indie dyers and I’m in love. I had visited Lisa Souza’s site several times but never could quite decide on an actual skein. The problem was just too many fantastic colors. I am now working on a scarf in the Mardi Gras colorway and I love it. The skein gave me quite a fit while trying to wind it but totally my fault not the yarn. I tried to wind it without the swift. Not a good idea.

I also am the owner of a new skein of Shulk from Dyeabolic Yarns. The greens are perfect for Charlie. I just have to find the perfect hat pattern. I’m in love with her Kettle dyed bubblegum colorway as well.

I have joined the Enchanted Woods Lace Shawl KAL from The Unique Sheep. It doesn’t actually start until January 10th but we did receive a gauge swatch pattern. I’m in love with my Cherry Blossom colorway in Tinsel Toes.

At this point I’m moving on. There is too much negativity in this ordeal and I surely do not want to drag myself to her level. I have my own work to do and projects that need my attention more.
