Our Thoughts

If it involves trains the males in this house are all about it.If you include dinosaurs and they are even more interested. So we have been long time fans of Dinosaur Train. The best part about the series is the educational aspects. As I’m sure you know from reading I’m all about educating the kids in new and fun ways and Uncle Milton’s Toys has done just that with their line of Dinosaur Train Learning Toys.

First up was the Dinosaur Poop.  Of course with the name Dinosaur Poop the kids were overly interested. We opened the container and talked about how archeologists use items the find to learn about how the dinosaurs lived. And one of the things they look at is the dinosaur’s poop. It tells them what they ate, what types of fish were around or plants. The kids had a blast unearthing the fossils that are in the Dinosaur Poop and best of all was that there was a puzzle aspect to some of the fossils where they had to decide how to put the pieces together.

Next in line was the Hatchers. Now we’ve all seen the grow-in-water objects but these dinosaur hatchers had a different aspect. Instead of being a small jelly bean size these eggs truly are an appropriate size for a dinosaur egg. As the water permeates the egg the dinosaur inside starts to grow and eventually hatches from the egg. This is a time process. It takes around 48 hours for the dinosaur to completely grow and reach its full size. if your little one is impatient you may want to start the egg without their knowing. Buy two, place one in the water overnight and the next evening give the new one to your child. Then do a switch.

The last toy we got to try out was the Dino Tracks. These cards are perfect for going on a scavenger hunt (Maybe finding Dino Poop at the end of one and Hatchers at the end of the other). Each pack comes with 3 sets of tracks. On the back of each card is information regarding dinosaurs. So while you’re following the tracks around the house, yard, neighborhood you can also learn about dinosaurs, what they ate, where they lived and how they lived.

Far and away the kids have loved playing with the Dinosaur Poop (as I type Rachael is making a mess with it yet again). They love to use the fossils to make different impressions in the poop and best of all I can take all the pieces and rehide them in the poop for them to discover again.
