Introducing Triscuit Crackers Home Farming

From Triscuit Crackers:

Nothing compares with the taste of vegetables you’ve grown at home. And with a little time and knowledge, growing vegetables at home is one of life’s great simple pleasures.

Triscuit is working with Urban Farming, a non-profit organization, to create 50 new community-based home farms throughout the United States. As part of the Home Farming Movement, Triscuit has included plantable herb seed cards in 4 million boxes of Triscuits to help encourage people to grow their own vegetables and herbs! Triscuit has also created a website that includes information about growing vegetables at home, a crop guide, community forums, and lots more!

Our Thoughts

Last year Charlie really got into the fact that I was weeding the flower bed. It is no secret that this mommy has a huge black thumb. Charlie however has a green thumb it seems. Last year we bought him his own little flower box and he planted all kinds of flowers. This year we hadn’t gotten to planting yet. We found some basil seeds and some dill seeds in our boxes of Triscuit’s that were sent to us. I followed the directions for planting them and we’ve waited a few weeks. We finally have some sprouts starting but I’m waiting to see how well its going to grow. I think we’re going to even add in some other veggies.

Our seeds before planting.
