Get active with Shrek Forever After for the Wii

The biggest animated film franchise of all time gives you one last chance to go green in this game based on the fourth and final Shrek movie. Just like the movie, Shrek: Forever After the game is meant to be enjoyed with family and friends. Each of your favorite characters is ready to help to outwit and out-muscle your enemy Rumpelstiltskin. Play through the adventure as Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and Puss In Boots. Use each character’s special abilities to defeat foes and complete challenges as you switch between Shrek’s normal world and an alternate reality. Up to three other players can join at any time with drop-in, drop-out co-op play.

Playing along

With being Shrek lovers, we were excited to try out the new Shrek Forever After game from Activision for the Wii. As you travel through Far Far Away you switch characters in order to move forward in the game. Each character has special moves. Shrek can move large objects while Puss climbs and Donkey kicks to demolish and open objects. While this game does have some violence it is not gory. When your character fells a foe he just disappears from the screen.

We put the game in while having a Shrek party. Once we got the controls working (Totally operator error, the Wii wasn’t recognizing our nunchuck controller) the kids and adults took turns moving forward in the game. The ages playing wen from 4/5 year olds through teens and up into adults. Everyone had fun. The kids were completely enthralled while watching he characters change, find gold and solve puzzles.

Pros

  • Game play for all ages
  • Easy to maneuver and learn
  • Multiplayer

Cons

  • In order to play you must have a nunchuck controller for each player.

Buy It

You can purchase your Shrek Forever After online or in stores nationwide.
