Last night, Steve and I were watching Undercover Boss (Fantastic show by the way), however across the top our local news was running breaking news. Was it about the 6.9 earthquake that hit Mexicali yesterday? NO! Was it about the mass shooting in DC that left 4 young people dead? NO! What was this great big breaking news?
Donovan Mcnabb was traded to the Redskins. Seriously? This is the late breaking news that takes priority over people’s lives? He was traded to a team that has been to the play-offs 3 times in 10 years. Maybe I’m missing something but this is definitely not the game I used to watch with my parents. These athletes are making millions of dollars each season, aren’t doing their job (to win games/championships) and are now the priority in the news? I’m simply flabbergasted.
I can see running a breaking news report for Tiger arriving to the Masters. I can see running a breaking news about the Baseball season that started yesterday. But seriously the priority for the Washington DC area news was that McNabb, who plays a sport not in season, was coming to the area. They even showed screenshots of McNabb’s twitter page who asked about buying a house in DC. Lets focus on the real news people! The four lives that were cut short in a drive by shooting, the lives in danger because of a 6.9 earthquake not about some over paid athlete who won’t even be playing the sport for weeks.
OH and Mr. McNabb this is nothing against you personally, I’m sure you are a fabulous man and hopefully a quaterback that can turn the Redskins around. By the way, I have a beautiful 4 bedroom house with completely finished basement, 3.5 baths on an acre lot, nice neighbors in a suburb of DC that you can have.
