I’m wondering do you wear eyeglasses? I’m supposed to but my prescription is so light that I honestly can’t even tell you where my glasses are. I think they are in the Explorer. You know the truck that used to be mine until Steve gave in and let me buy a minivan. They were really cute when I bought them. They look almost like the ones to the left but mine are purple rims.
Steve wears prescription glasses . He cannot see with out his. He jokes all the time because he has the new super lightweight lenses and they’re still thicker than 3 nickles stacked together. Seriously go stack 3 nickles together and look at how thick that is. *I’ll wait for you* Now that you’re back and shocked keep in mid this was after having surgery on one eye with a new corrective lens placed in.
I can’t believe the cost of glasses. Steve has such horrible issues that we pay quite a pretty penny for his. Because of the corrective lens he has to have a prism on the one side that makes his sight realign to center. It really is kind of wicked to think about. But it’s brought up new concerns in our house. Will our children get my eyesight or Steve’s? Will they also have to wear glasses or will they be safe to run around without worries. I’m praying that they get my eyesight. Steve’s whole family has some really horrid vision problems. Steve’s surgery was for a retinal tear. It was so bad they weren’t sure if he was going to be able to see again. Luckily his eyesight has mostly returned.
So do you wear prescription eyeglasses? Do your kids? How do you cover the cost? Our insurance is fairly decent we get an eye exam every year and new glasses discounted every 2 years unless there is a huge change in our vision. But we still pay a pretty penny for Steve’s glasses. Mine are usually $20. Steve’s the last time we got them were $200. Anyone wanna help break his other eye? The surgeon stated that if he ever needs to have surgery on the opposite eye they will put corrective lenses in both eyes at the same time making his eyesight back to normal.

I don’t wear prescription eyeglassed but I do have to wear reading glasses. I had cataract surgery cause by an eye condition called Uveitis and my vision is constantly changing due to complications so they cannot prescribe glasses for me.
My son’s however, do wear prescription glasses and they cost a fortune! We have no coverage for that so everything is out of pocket expense!
My oldest son is military so he is able to get his through them. We still pay for our 19 years olds glasses and they are always rediculously expensive!
Did I mention my husband wears glasses too! He just lost his before he left to work in Dutch Harbor. Great, another pair needing to be purchaed, lol, I will just add it to our growing list of bills:)
