EA Games, Wii and Family time

For Christmas last year all I wanted was a Wii. Charlie and Rachael have been enjoying playing along with us. Okay so Rach doesn’t really play. She holds the nunchuck controller and pretends but the rest of us have been having a blast. It’s been hard to find games that can be played by all of us and keep us active.

We were recently given the opportunity to review Hasbro Family Game Night 2 and Boom Blox Bash Party. Both games are sequels to previous games from EA.

Hasbro Family Game Night 2 has been a favorite game over the past few weeks. It really has a little bit for all of us. Connect 4 and Jenga are good for Charlie. He’s been learning how to fairly play games and take turns. Playing Jenga has also helped with his eye hand coordination. Operation and Pictureka are perfect for Steven and I. It’s been a blast to play in the game show mode. Mr. Potato Head is the emcee as you travel around the game board taking turns playing the four games to see who will be the big winner.

I’ve really enjoyed the graphics. No longer choppy and pixelated, the colors pop and are better than I expected.

Boom Blox Bash Party has been a great stress reliever.  Charlie can easily play next to us while we bust blox upon blox. Boom Blox Bash Party comes with over 400 levels and the ability to play in several modes. Play alone or with a friend to team up and beat levels. Better yet play against each other to see who is the master a blox-busting.

Boom Blox Bash Party is on the more violent side due to the destruction of buildings and characters. While the graphics are amazing, they are also on the dark side. No princess and pony colors here but that would be because of the game content. I honestly wouldn’t expect princess and pony colors.

I have to say I was so impressed by the overall content and graphics in both games that when given the choice between EA Active and the Wii fit plus, we chose to go with the EA Active. I’ll be posting my thoughts over the next few weeks as I start a new workout routine.

BUY IT: You can purchase Boom Blox Bash Party or Hasbro Family Game Night 2 at retailers around the world or online.
