We have been trying to get Rachael off the bottle for some time. She will use Charlie’s sippy cups but refused to use her own. We also wanted her to be able to drink from a straw with relative ease. We have finally found the perfect combination for us.
We were sent the Safe Sippy 2 to review. This sippy cup has so many pluses. It is made of stainless steel and is BPA free. The bottles Rachael used were BPA free and I wanted to keep this idea with her sippy cups. There are chemicals everywhere in our lives, cleaning solutions, pesticides on our foods and in the air so why put more in our bodies when we have an option that is safe.
The Kid Basix Safe Sippy Cup has another plus: Because it is made of stainless steel it easily cleaned and holds the contents temperature well. Rachael is still stuck in the milk needs to be warm mode in order to drink it. The Safe Sippy 2 holds her milk at a comfortable temperature for her as she is using the sippy. The cup has an easily removable set of handles that is great for sippy starters and includes a travel plug for no spillage enroute and a straw insert. Rachael has easily moved from the sippy to the straw insert and back again and with minimal spills.
We also love the colors. We received the pink and orange sippy cup but it is also available in blue and orange and green and orange. The base has a rubberized coating which provides insulation but also makes for good gripping by little hands.
PROS:

CONS:
- The dust cap did not fit as tightly as I would like.
- If you forget to switch to the travel plug, sippy cup will leak.
