Cake Vase

Cake Vase

I was recently given the opportunity to review a new product: The Cake Vase. This simple product allows any person to quickly make a simple homemade or store bought cake into a work of art. I love to bake and now that Charlie has discovered cake he loves when I take the time to make a cake for him. We had a birthday recently in the family and the birthday girl had complained to me that noone made her a cake so this was the perfect time to use The Cake Vase. Charlie and I mixed up a plain yellow cake, added some buttercream icing and worked our magic.

The Cake Vase is easy to use and will keep flowers on the cake fresh for more then enough time to hold a party. The Cake Vase. is made of durable, washable plastic with small spikes that press into the cake and a tall rim. The spikes are perfect for two reasons, they keep flower stems out of the actual cake and also hold water to keep the flowers fresh. The rim helps to keep the water in but also is good for a guideline for placing the flowers.

The Cake Vase was easy to use. After making our 8 inch round cake we simply pushed the first ring into the cake, filled it with water, placed in the second ring and filled that with water. Next came the fun part, filling the rings with flowers. We used two bouquets that we bought at the grocery store. Our birthday girl was surpised at how beautiful the cake was and loved that she had flowers to take home as well.
